This pangram is undoubtedly the most
famous in the english language. A "pangram" (sometimes called a
holalphabetic sentence) is a sentence that contains all the letters
of the alphabet. "The quick brown fox..." example was often used to
test out typewriters, since it used every alphabetic key.
Pangrams are generally considered more interesting the shorter
they are, and the less letters they repeat. Many versions of the
"The quick brown fox" exist, some of them not truly pangrams at
all.

Other examples and variations exist as well.
It would be nice if a sentence existed that was exactly 26
letters long, and used all the letters of the alphabet, but the few
that come close are pretty weird, use strange words and
abbreviations, and are just not very realistic. My favorite is
"Mr. Jock, TV quiz PhD, bags few lynx", followed
by the quirky "Glum Schwartzkopf vex'd by NJ IQ."
These are anagrams of the alphabet and are sometimes called perfect
pangrams.
