Learn the Basics in One Day!
Our SMART Reading Seminars are 6 hours in length, and usually run from 10:00am to 5:00pm with a half-hour for lunch and two 15
minute breaks. You'll be amazed at how much you can learn about reading in that much time.
Our seminars start and end by testing each participant's reading speed and comprehension using standardized tests. Students
reading speeds are measured in Effective Words Per Minute (eWpm). This is determined by multiplying your words per minute reading
rate times your comprehension. For the average student, this is around 220 wpm X 65% comprehension, for an effective reading rate
of 143 eWpm.
The SMART Reading Seminar is appropriate for all ages and focuses primarily on speed and comprehension. For more age specific
targeted training, check out our various workshops.
