SMART Reading Workshop

   The FasTrack program is the natural next step in reading evolution. By learning SMART Reading early, before years of bad habits have been engrained, students make remarkable progress. Top FastTrack students are our best readers, by far. They have the ability to read in excess of 1000 words per minute, all the more amazing since they typically come in with reading rates of around 130 to 160 wpm.

    Unlike our programs for older readers, the FasTrack program maximizes reading speed and comprehension, with strong emphasis on many of the more difficult reading practices which these students seem to pick up the most easily.

   Reading materials are age appropriate, and are modern, not rehashed, public domain "classics" which can be more difficult for the early reader. The SMART Reader FasTrack Software also is customized for students typically in the 9-14 year age range.

   As with all of our workshops, a strong concentration on rapid-reading skills and maximum comprehension are emphasized. In the TestPrep course this is combined with using SMART Reading skills in standardized test application, and providing advanced training in notetaking, enhanced retention, and content specific reading skills.

   The course is designed to help students score higher on their standardized tests and to do better in their final, critical years of high-school. It also provides essential skills that will help them throughout college and life.

Nearly 40% of college students do not return for their sophomore year. The number one problem facing incoming freshman - lack of preparation for the immense reading load.

   As with our other workshops, a strong concentration on rapid-reading skills and maximum comprehension are emphasized. In the CollegePrep course this is combined with using SMART Reading skills under university conditions. Students become adept at dealing with a large volume of reading, as well as studying and understanding difficult text.

   The course is designed to help students survive the first two critical years of college, and give them the advanced reading skills to last a lifetime. It includes advanced test-taking skills and additional vocabulary work.

   SMART Reading Mastery provides the working adult with the skills to read faster, with better comprehension, and with the ability to adjust their reading for the type of material they are working with. It also provides guidance for helping your own family master the SMART Reading system.

   The Mastery system delves deeper into the science of SMART Reading, providing the underlying essentials to allow our graduates to identify issues and problems with progress, and a more thorough understanding of the tools and software.

The SMART Reader PRO Software tracks the progress of up to 5 students, and allows importing custom material. It also comes with the SMART Vocabulary Essential and Academic edition software.
